OilfieldBOSS

Oilfield activity intelligence

See where the oilfield is working this week.

OilfieldBOSS tracks frac crews, drilling rigs and new permits across six U.S. basins, pad by pad, every week. Know which counties and operators are busy, and how much sand, water and pipe the work will need, before the monthly reports catch up.

Intel is in private beta with a limited group of companies.

OilfieldBOSS Intel

Activity and demand, in one weekly view

Intel pairs a pad-level activity map with a product demand outlook, so sales, operations and planning teams see where the work is now and how much of it is coming.

Activity Map

Every pad, every week

Every well pad is scored weekly from satellite radar and state filings, and shown by stage.

  • Frac: pads with a frac spread on location this week, each with a confidence level.
  • Rigs: where drilling rigs are working, reconciled to Baker Hughes county counts.
  • Lifecycle: permitted, drilling, waiting on frac, fracking and recently completed.
  • Filter by operator, county or state, and export any list to a spreadsheet.

Demand Outlook

Sand, water, casing and plugs by basin and county

Rig counts and completions are turned into product demand for the current week and the next six months.

  • Frac sand, water, casing and frac plugs, weekly and monthly.
  • Split by county and operator, based on the pads fracking now.
  • Backlog from wells drilled and waiting on completion.
  • Forecast ranges that reflect each model's tested error.

Who it's for

Built for the companies that supply the work

When revenue depends on where rigs and frac crews show up next, Intel gives your team that picture every Monday.

Sand and proppant

See which counties and operators are pumping this week, and how much sand the backlog will need.

Water and disposal

Plan trucks, lines and disposal capacity around active frac pads instead of last month's report.

Pipe and OCTG

Follow rigs by county and new permits to see where casing demand is heading.

Completion services

Find operators with pads drilled and waiting on frac, and the ones finishing jobs now.

Equipment and rental

Point field sales at the busy pads and keep inventory close to the work.

Analysts and leadership

Track basin activity week to week, ahead of the monthly and quarterly numbers.

Methodology

Regulator filings plus satellite radar, published weekly

Every pad starts from a public filing. Satellite radar then shows what is happening on location, and every estimate is tested against reported activity.

Find every pad

Drilling permits, spud reports and rig reports from the Texas Railroad Commission, New Mexico OCD, Louisiana SONRIS, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, the North Dakota Industrial Commission and Colorado ECMC, plus FracFocus disclosures, grouped into well pads.

Watch them from space

Sentinel-1 radar sees through clouds and passes over each pad every 6 to 12 days. Basin-specific models read the change a frac spread or drilling rig makes on location.

Publish and measure

Activity, rigs and demand update every Monday and Thursday, reconciled to Baker Hughes rig counts and EIA well data. Each basin shows how its estimates tested against reported fracs.

Coverage

Six U.S. basins today

Basins marked beta are newer and still being validated against a full year of reported activity.
